Equipment

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 2 packs (14 oz each) Lil Smokies sausages
  • ¾ cup BBQ sauce (thick style)
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup pepperoncini juice
  • ½ cup pepperoncini peppers (sliced)
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika
  • optional crushed red pepper flakes

Instructions

  • Add the lil smokies to a slow cooker or heavy saucepan, spreading them evenly.
  • In a bowl, whisk together BBQ sauce, brown sugar, pepperoncini juice, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and smoked paprika until smooth.
  • Pour the glaze over the sausages, making sure they’re fully coated.
  • Add sliced pepperoncini peppers and dot the butter evenly over the top.
  • Cook on LOW for 2½–3 hours, stirring every 30–40 minutes until the sauce thickens and clings to the sausages.
  • Optional: remove the lid during the last 20 minutes to help the sauce thicken further. Serve hot with toothpicks.

Notes

Use a thick, dark BBQ sauce for the best sticky finish. Adjust spice level with extra pepper flakes if desired. Keeps warm in the slow cooker during serving.
