Muddy Buddies, also known as puppy chow, are a delightful snack made from Chex cereal coated in melted chocolate, peanut butter, and powdered sugar, creating a perfect blend of crunch and sweetness.

- 9 cups Chex cereal (rice or corn) Preferred base for light and crispy texture.
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips For rich chocolate coating.
- ½ cup peanut butter Adds creaminess and nutty flavor.
- ¼ cup butter Helps create a smooth coating.
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Optional for added depth.
- 1 ½ cups powdered sugar Gives sweetness and signature look.

Instructions
Preparation
- Gather all the ingredients.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the chocolate chips, peanut butter, and butter.
- Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth.
- Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Place the Chex cereal in a large bowl and pour the melted chocolate mixture over it.
- Gently mix until every piece is evenly coated.
- Transfer the coated cereal into a large resealable plastic bag, add the powdered sugar, seal the bag, and shake until the cereal is fully covered.
- Spread the cereal out on parchment paper to cool.
- Once set, store in an airtight container or enjoy immediately.
Notes
For extra flavor, consider double-coating with chocolate and powdered sugar. Use smaller bags for indivitual servings.
