Ingredients
  

  • 16 oz fettuccine
  • 6 tbsp salted butter
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/4 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 1 1/2 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
  • fresh parsley finely chopped, for garnish

Instructions
 

  • Cook the fettuccine according to package directions. Drain and set aside. (10 minutes)
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. (2 minutes)
  • Add the minced garlic, garlic powder, and salt; whisk to combine. (1 minute)
  • Sprinkle in the flour and whisk well. While continuing to whisk, slowly pour in the heavy cream and milk until smooth. (3 minutes)
  • Bring the sauce to a gentle boil, then reduce heat to low and let it simmer for 2–3 minutes. (3 minutes)
  • Stir in the Parmesan cheese until it melts into a creamy sauce. (2 minutes)
  • Add the cooked fettuccine to the skillet and toss with tongs until every strand is coated in luscious sauce. (2 minutes)
  • Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately, piping hot. (1 minute)

Notes

For an even richer flavor, use freshly grated Parmesan. This Alfredo sauce can also be adapted with grilled chicken, shrimp, or sautéed mushrooms for variety.
