Pistachio Layer

  • 1 cup pistachio ice cream Can be store-bought or homemade
  • 1/2 cup chopped pistachios For added crunch

Chocolate Layer

  • 1 cup chocolate ice cream Can be store-bought or homemade

Miscellaneous

  • 1/4 cup liqueur (optional) Enhances flavor complexity

Instructions
 

Preparation of Layers

  • Prepare each ice cream layer separately, ensuring they are well mixed.
  • For the cherry layer, fold in the candied cherries.
  • For the pistachio layer, fold in the chopped pistachios.

Layering Ice Cream

  • In a loaf pan or mold, spread the cherry layer evenly and freeze for at least 1 hour.
  • Once frozen, add the pistachio layer on top of the cherry layer and freeze for another hour.
  • Finally, spread the chocolate layer on top and freeze overnight.

Serving

  • Slice the spumoni and serve, optionally drizzling with any remaining liqueur.

Notes

Ensure each layer is fully frozen before adding the next. For best results, use high-quality ingredients. Serves perfectly with fresh fruit or biscuits.
