Equipment

  • Heavy Saucepan
  • Candy Thermometer
  • Wooden Sticks
  • Parchment Paper

Ingredients

Apples

  • 6 medium apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • 6 wooden sticks or skewers

Candy Coating

  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup light corn syrup
  • 3/4 cup water
  • red food coloring optional, for a vibrant look

Coating & Drizzle

  • 1 1/2 cups crushed golden Oreos
  • 1/2 cup freeze-dried strawberries, crushed
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips melted, for drizzle

Instructions

  • Wash and dry apples thoroughly. Insert wooden sticks into the tops.
  • In a heavy saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup, and water. Cook over medium-high heat until the mixture reaches 300°F (hard crack stage) on a candy thermometer. Add a few drops of red food coloring if desired.
  • Dip each apple into the hot candy mixture, swirling to coat evenly. Let excess drip off. Place apples on a parchment-lined tray to set slightly.
  • In a bowl, mix crushed golden Oreos and freeze-dried strawberries. Roll the freshly coated apples in this crumb mixture before the candy fully hardens.
  • Melt white chocolate chips and drizzle over the apples for a finishing touch.
  • Allow apples to cool and harden completely before serving.

Notes

For best results, work quickly when coating and rolling apples—the candy sets fast! Try experimenting with different cookie crumbs or chocolate drizzle colors for fun variations.
