Ingredients
  

Ice Cream Base

  • 2 cups heavy cream Ensure chilled
  • 1 cup whole milk Ensure chilled
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar Adjust to taste
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract For flavor

Strawberry Preparation

  • 2 cups fresh strawberries Hull and chop half for mix-ins

Shortcake Crumble

  • 1 cup shortcake crumbs Use pre-made or homemade

Preparation

  • Wash and hull the strawberries. Chop half into small chunks and puree the rest for the ice cream base.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine strawberry puree, heavy cream, milk, sugar, and vanilla extract. Stir until the sugar dissolves.

Churning

  • Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
  • During the last few minutes of churning, fold in the chopped strawberries and shortcake crumbs.

Freezing

  • Transfer the churned ice cream to an airtight container and freeze for 2–4 hours until firm.
  • Serve with extra shortcake crumbs and sliced strawberries on top.

Notes

For added flavor, macerate the strawberries in sugar for 20-30 minutes before blending. Try various mix-ins such as white chocolate chips or crushed nuts for a unique twist.
